Consumed with Zeal
Transforming Hearts, Churches, and Nations
"The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies." —Isaiah 42:13
Isaiah saw the day when Jesus, at His second coming, would be consumed with zeal for His people and shout from heaven as a mighty man of war to destroy the works of darkness. His shout of war and victory will first be sounded across the nations through His end-time Church. Already, we are beginning to hear this “shout” as it builds in intensity, until the hour when Jesus Himself will shout from the sky for all to hear (Jer. 25:30; Hos. 11:10; Joel 3:16; 1 Thes. 4:16).
There are moments in history when a door for great change is blown wide open. We are in the early days of seeing sweeping changes that will confront the status quo in the Church and in society. It is in these strategic moments that the disciples of Jesus will become the hinge of history, that pivotal point that determines which way the door will swing.
Zeal for Jesus' Name, for Revival, Justice, and Souls
Right now, we stand at a critical juncture in history. All across the earth, the Holy Spirit is visiting His people with power as He raises up a generation consumed with God’s zeal. Zeal to see the fame of Jesus’ name go forth in the earth. Zeal to see revival in the Church. Zeal to see justice established. Zeal to see a great harvest of souls.
At this time, a great confrontation is mounting up in the earth as the powers of darkness rage against the moral fabric of society. Even as the light becomes brighter, the darkness grows darker. Just a brief glance at headlines reveals the unstable hour that we are living in. From the threat of global terrorism to the collapse of major financial institutions, society convulses under the burden of lawlessness, even as some regions have been devastated by earthquakes, torrential weather, and physical calamities (Mt. 24:4-8).
The Darkness Is Getting Darker
In America alone, abortion continues to kill 4,000 babies every day in their mothers’ wombs. The sanctity of marriage is under siege as at no other time, threatening to destroy the moral foundations of our nation. The number being trafficked into the sex industry is growing at an alarming rate. Sexual immorality is reaching epic heights of depravity in our nation.
Meanwhile, the Church of the West, caged by our passivity and compromise, is dulled by the “gospel” of cheap grace, leaving it bored, depressed, and disengaged from the great harvest.
Confusion is pouring forth from many pulpits, as well as from the halls of Washington.
Stand Boldly for Truth
It is time for the uncompromising prophetic voice of forerunners to speak clearly in the midst of so much confusion. Yes, it is time to draw a line in the sand and to take a bold stand for truth.
God is now preparing prophetic voices from many different streams in the Body of Christ worldwide. These forerunners win the lost, heal the sick, help the poor, and work to see transformation in the seven spheres of society. The forerunner lifestyle is not reserved for the elite; it is available to all who are willing to heed the call to give themselves fully to Jesus,
as they minister to others.
We know that a “Great Awakening” is soon to sweep across our nation (Acts 2:17-21) and that all nations will receive the witness of the kingdom with power (Mt. 24:14; Rev. 7:9). What a privilege to live in this momentous hour of history!
