eternal musings

march 8 journal entry

you know what my dad's sudden passing to be with Jesus did to me?
today i notice God placed reality in my vision:
the Day of the Lord is all I really want
not just for my dad's sake
but because that Day is when my longing meets Jesus'.
it's a real moment that will take place.
bodies will jump out of the dirt,
bones will come to life with a shout from Love Himself
and i know i will see the man, Jesus.

ETERNITY is set in my heart as a reality
--it's been stamped into my being, deeper than ever before
right now i know it's there because i have this aching for my dad
but beyond that, this misery gives evidence of the
reaching of all creation to be reunited with its Maker.
i must have forever with Jesus.
i couldn't live on this side of time without the guarantee His blood has given me:
to really be with Him without the pain of death, the tears, the sickness.

so i thank You, Father,
for the shock that led me to the bottom line
i'm grateful for the grief,
because You've brought me into a bit of Your heart,
Your craving for death/sickness/tears to be removed from all You love

tears sown, fruit reaped

This is a moment from our trip that was captured on video.
Please take time to watch it.
Also here is a link to a blog by the video's creator, Jesse Koepke.
He wrote about his testimony on the blog following this video and I believe you will be blessed by his heartfelt story.
Be blessed.
