Your Song

My confidence is Your love
Your smile over me, Your song

Reveal the grin of Heaven
the depth of Your love
show me how clean I am from sin
let me see Your goodness as it is seen above

Through eyes of faith I see Your beauty
I once was blind, rejecting Your love for me
Your kind and tender hand of love is now clear to see
Before the earth was formed I was Your dream

Reveal the grin of Heaven
the depth of Your love
show me how close You've always been
Your Spirit upon me like a glove

How powerful is the blood You shed on that tree?
My confidence is Your love
Your smile over me, Your song

God shakes our confidence in everything other than Him in His holy jealousy for all of our heart soul mind and strength.  Feeling a little shaken lately?  An inventory of what my confidence is placed in usually reveals I've been giving myself to other lovers.

Coffee, media, food, even Godly friends' opinions are valid things, but not worthy of placing our confidence in.  A measure of where your confidence is placed is many times blatantly obvious by the amount of time spent with these 'lovers.'

The Lord is the same today yesterday and forever.  He is still the God of Hosea, pursuing a Bride that is insistent on giving herself regularly to lesser loves.  If we are not hungry for God, we are too full on other loves.  Jesus tells us blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.  Have we felt hunger pangs or thirst for righteousness lately?  If not, we need to take an inventory of what we're sowing into, what loves we're giving our time and affections to.

We reap back more than what we sow, what are we full of?  That's what will spill out of us:

"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life." Galatians 6:7-8

Father, we return to our first Love.  To the One who deserves all of our heart soul mind and strength because of His humility on the cross and His triumph over the enemy for us.  We ask in Jesus' Name, for His sake, that You would send Your Holy Spirit to reveal to us broken cisterns we've been turning to instead of Your Living Water.  Give us the gift of hunger for Your righteousness, to pursue the eternal with all we are.  Father, show us our inheritance in Jesus that we may hold unswervingly to Him as our hope alone, truly believing that You who promised are faithful with each choice we make to sow in the Spirit instead of the flesh.  Shake out a desire for anything other than You in Your holy jealousy over us.  Bring us back to being firmly established on the Rock, that when the storms come our house would not fall.  Give us confidence in Your love to truly say, "You are my rock and there is no other."  Persuade us once again of Your worth, give us understanding of Your unfathomable love in Christ.  We believe that You rejoice wholehearted lovers like Mary of Bethany, so we ask that You would win our affections over again that we may pour them out on Your feet. Let us hear the song You sing over us. Show us Your smile, make us confident in Your love that will fulfill our every need and wash us clean with Your blood again today. Thank You for Your mercy, new every morning, we receive it as Your wash our feet with mercy.  You are all we want, even in our weakness, we profess our need of You.  Bring us back to You, Jesus, by Your Holy Spirit.  Pour out a revelation of Love upon us that we may be a Bride given over in love to You alone.   In Jesus' Name we ask these things, Father, for His sake that He may have a full inheritance in the saints, Amen.
